Common questions

Is the free version actually free, or is it a limited trial?

Permanently free. The free version is a complete job board - employer and candidate dashboards, application tracking, BuddyPress integration, reCAPTCHA, GDPR, and JobPosting schema are all included at no cost. WP Career Board Pro is a separate product that adds advanced features like a Kanban pipeline, multiple boards, resume search, and Stripe monetization.

Do I get WP Career Board if I have a Reign Theme license?

Yes. WP Career Board is included with all Reign Theme licenses. Log in to your Wbcom account, go to Downloads, and download WP Career Board. Activate it on your site, run the Setup Wizard, and the integration with Reign activates automatically.

Does it require BuddyPress?

No. WP Career Board works on any WordPress site. BuddyPress is optional - when active, it unlocks activity stream integration, employer and candidate member types in the member directory, and profile linking. None of this requires any configuration.

Does it work with my theme?

Yes. The blocks are theme-agnostic - they inherit your theme's typography and colors. Reign Theme and BuddyX Pro have deeper integration (automatic design system adoption), but any Gutenberg-compatible theme works.

Will it slow down my site?

No JavaScript framework is loaded. The frontend runs on the WordPress Interactivity API - the same runtime WordPress uses for the Query Loop block. No jQuery, no React bundle, no additional libraries. REST endpoints are cached; job queries use object caching when available.

Can candidates apply without creating an account?

Yes. Guest applications are enabled by default. Candidates submit their name, email, and cover letter without registering. You can disable guest applications in WP Career Board → Settings → Job Listings if registration is required for your use case.

What does WP Career Board Pro add?

Pro adds: Application Pipeline (Kanban board with custom hiring stages), Multi-Board Engine (multiple independent boards per install), Resume Builder and resume search, Job Alerts, Job Map, Stripe Credit System for monetization, Custom Field Builder, AI-assisted job description writing, and Job Feed (RSS/JSON). Pro is a separate plugin that extends the free version - both must be active.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Deleting the plugin removes all associated data - jobs, applications, company profiles, and settings. Deactivating the plugin (without deleting) preserves all data. Export your data before uninstalling if needed.
