Common questions

Is WB Gamification really free?
Yes. Every feature, every integration, every admin surface ships in the free plugin. No paid add-ons, no license key, no per-site limits.
Does it require BuddyPress?
No. WB Gamification works with plain WordPress on its own. BuddyPress, WooCommerce, LearnDash, and 7 more host plugins are auto-detected when present, but none are required.
Will it slow down my site?
No. The async award pipeline runs on Action Scheduler, off the request hot path. Materialised user-totals mean leaderboard reads are single-row PK lookups, not full SUMs. Built for 100k+ members.
Can I customise the point values?
Yes. The Settings → Points screen lists every tracked action across every active integration. Edit values, set daily caps, toggle repeat behaviour, all in one place.
Can I use it for mobile apps?
Yes. 65 REST endpoints + OpenAPI spec + the X-WB-Gam-Key header give first-class API access. Submit events from your mobile app, read leaderboards, award badges remotely. The Cross-Site API doc covers the centralised gamification server pattern.
How do I integrate with my custom plugin?
Drop a wb-gamification.php manifest in your plugin's root directory. The engine auto-discovers it on plugins_loaded. Your manifest is silently ignored when WB Gamification is not installed. The Build Your First Integration guide walks through it in 5 minutes.
What about WordPress Multisite?
Network-activate or per-site activate, both work. Each subsite has its own gamification database tables and settings. Cross-site reporting is on the roadmap.
Does it require external accounts (Google, Stripe, etc.)?
No. Everything runs on your WordPress install. No SaaS sign-up, no API keys to manage. The optional integrations (Zapier, Make) use outbound webhooks the plugin generates.
How do I get support?
Wbcom community forum + Wbcom support email + the docs site. As a free product, fast support is on a best-effort basis.
Will my data be portable if I uninstall?
Yes. WP-CLI export command writes a JSON file with every event, badge, kudos, streak. Reimport on another site or archive. GDPR export and erasure work the same way.
